I just read somewhere about the shortest story in the world competition held several years ago. Each entry had to be no longer than fifty five words. So I decided to give it a go, and hit the target exactly.

New stuff! A batch of textless icons - bases, if you will - from the promotional posters for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Will probably make some more when my lack-of-broadband decides to load the other posters.

On to the iconsCollapse )

I think this is one of the best pieces of fanfiction I've written in any fandom, with any pairing, and on any theme. After this piece is when I got bored with fanfiction, and I figure that must mean something. Maybe I hit my fanfic peake here. Sirius' Cure for Exam Tension was the most popular piece of mine on ff.net, but that's probably because there were some cheap gags in it and it didn't require one to understand much of anything, which is good in its own way but I don't feel that it was the best of the bunch. This one is a little more refined, and the characters are more, well, in character.

Title: Colourblind
Rating: PG. All except for the last line, which is a wee bit naughtier.
Pairing: Remus Lupin/Sirius Black
Summary: A speculation on how Lupin and Sirius' relationship (sod Tonks, it's canon!) may have started out.
Disclaimer: All characters belong to J.K. Rowling except ones I may have invented for my own convenience. I'm making no money here, and don't I know it.

An effort to continue the Sam and Richie saga. I still intend to write a lot more of this, but it's a case of finding the time and the enthusiasm and the willpower to sit and write steadily in a room full of screaming and arguing sisters.

Ah well.

Title: Er ... none actually.
Summary: Sam and Richie go to a posh ball. That's about it so far.
Length: 2,519 words, not complete.

Well, this was a long time ago. The character of Cato has certainly evolved a lot since this short story, and is almost unrecognisable except in his desire to find release. My ideas on werewolves have changed a lot since then too. Anyway, I remember being rather pleased with this, even if it is a little pretentious and a trifle clichéd.

For my first post I've decided not to go back too far. This is the only piece of M*A*S*H fanfiction I've produced, and it was done because someone sparked the idea in my head, and staging this story was too hard to resist.

Title: Swansong
Author: Smithy
Rating: PG
Pairings: Hawkeye/Trapper (Hawyeye/B.J.?)
